Yes, it is true! Everything you have heard about Iceland is true. We have elves, and trolls, Santa Clause is from Iceland, and we have the mighty gods Thor, Odinn & Freyja. Iceland is the home of volcanoes as it was made by them, shaped by glaciers and water. The island far away in the North Atlantic Ocean, the island of fire and ice & the home of the Vikings.
Now enjoy:
South Coast of Iceland has everything Iceland has to offer. You get to see all the best places in one day and you also get to hike on top of Iceland’s 3rd largest glacier. Reykjavik Outventure is a small family-owned operator with a huge heart which creates high-quality experiences for tourists. We specialize in small group tours with personal experience, where the guests get to taste things and visit places they would usually not do except with a local guide.
Reykjavik Outventure’s team consists of experienced local guides who are here to make your days the best possible.
Tour Description
On this 11-12 hour Iceland South Coast tour you will be picked up from your hotel in Reykjavik between 07:30 and 08:00 before you head on this journey to the land of volcanoes and ice.
Seljalandsfoss waterfall is the first stop. This is the waterfall with a walking trail that leads behind it and on sunny days you can see a beautiful rainbow and if you are lucky, a unicorn sliding down.
Skógafoss waterfall is the second stop. You have probably imagined what the perfect waterfall would look like. This is the one! There are absolutely no words to describe it. So the word that comes closest to it will be perfect.
Sólheimajökull Glacier hike is the next stop. This is the highlight without a doubt. Walking on a glacier with Iceland’s most powerful volcano lying underneath it. This is a surreal experience that everyone has to try. On top of it you will get hot chocolate and Icelandic pastry.
Reynisfjara or Black Sand Beach is the last stop before heading to the Viking lodge.
This is where Game of Thrones was filmed and this is where the troll is out in the ocean towing 3 mast ships to shore. This is where you see the famous beautiful basaltic rocks in the mountain.
What to wear? Well, this is Iceland. It rains here 250 days a year so be prepared for rain. Bring rain gear.
BUT we offer winter jumpsuits which are especially convenient during winter months.
Just choose it under extra when making the booking.
Bring thermal layers also. In winter, bring something warm along with a cap and gloves. And of course, you need to have hiking boots.
We do provide you with crampons in the wintertime for free. You do not need to slip in the icy trails.
What do we provide for the sólheimajökull glacier hike from Reykjavik Tour? You get all the glacier equipment from us like helmets, glacier walking crampons, and belts.
Difficulty? Moderate.
We sure hope to see you
