Tour Description
After being picked at a place in Reykjavik by your choice, you will head out on this amazing journey. While driving through the town of elves, listen to your guide tell you stories of elves and trolls and where this all started.
Your first stop is in the northernmost part of Reykjanes. There are two lighthouses there. One is one of the oldest ones in Iceland and the other one was built during world war second. Learn all about what lighthouses are for and go on board a wooden boat on dry there.
The next stop is the oldest village on the Reykjanes peninsula named Hafnir. This place is full of history and gems. See an old black church, houses ruins from the time of settlement, and an anchor from a ship that changed the whole village.
Now you will exit the North American part of Iceland and go over to the European part to the bridge between these two continents. There you can see how these two tectonic plates are moving apart from each other.
A short drive to the south and you will visit an old female ghost named Gunna. She has a geothermal hot spring named after her.
Just a minute’s drive from there you will see the stunning cliffs by Reykjanes lighthouse. These cliffs are one of the most stunning places on Reykjanes. Seeing the waves from the North Atlantic ocean break at them and the small island just outside is amazing.
The last stop before heading back is a small pool in the lava cliffs by the ocean. It is now allowed to swim in it but the ocean creates an unforgettable experience there.
