Tour Description
After a pick-up at your hotel in Reykjavik, you will head on to this fisherman journey. While driving to the first location, hear all about volcanoes, elves, trolls, and how Vikings believed in them, and how they have controlled us through the decades.
The first stop will be the northernmost village on Reykjanes Peninsula. Enjoy private tours and travel to Iceland. It is located on top of the toe and has two lighthouses there. One that is not in use anymore and one that was built during World war second. There is also a wooden boat on dry there with a little dock around it so you can go on board and explore it.
Next is the oldest village on Reykjanes Peninsula, Hafnir. It has this beautiful old black church. It has houses ruins from the settlement of Iceland there and an old anchor from an American ship that ran aground there 130 years ago.
From the North American part of Iceland, you drive south to the European part of Iceland to the bridge between these two continents. Nowhere in the world except for Iceland, can you walk between these two continents.
Further south is hot mud pools named after a witch that used to live there. Her name was Gunna and this place is called Gunnuhver. Sometimes you can hear her scream there. You can see a big area with steam coming up from the earth and boiling hot water.
A minute’s drive is the Reykjanes cliffs. This place is absolutely magical. Seeing the waves break at the cliffs with all the power the North Atlantic has. Sometimes you can see whales swimming out there.
From there you will head to a small pool by the ocean named Brimketill. It is not allowed to swim in it though but this place is just as magical as the last one. Sometimes when the waves are powerful, they can reach over you and you get all wet.
We save the best for the last. Blue Lagoon is next. Bathing in this blue water surrounded in lava is absolutely surreal.
Note: You can pay for Blue Lagoon admission by choosing extra during the booking.
