Golden Circe & Secret Lagoon + South Coast + Northern Lights

There are just too many things to do in Iceland. Iceland is full of adventures, stories, and marvelous nature. Not to mention all the delicious food and the old food traditions. 2 of the most popular routes in Iceland are the South Coast and Golden Circle routes.
But are you gonna visit Iceland without seeing the Northern Lights tour Iceland? I did not think so.

South Coast has all the glaciers and waterfalls along with Viking stories. Golden Circle has a history and delicious food. Do the Northern Lights need any introduction?

Description

Wake up early, get some good breakfast, put on your finest clothes, and get ready for this awesome day! Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation or the closest bus stop between 08:30 and 09:00. But do not worry, he will not leave without you.

We recommend bringing packed lunch or getting something on the way as this will be an enthusiastic day for you. Dinner at the restaurant will be around 6pm.

First stop is the beautiful Seljalandsfoss waterfall. You have probably seen it a lot in pictures from many angles. Well, the pictures do not lie. It is as spectacular as they say it is. One thing that makes it even more special is the water running in it, runs from the glacier sitting on top of the mighty volcano, Eyjafjallajokull volcano. You better learn how to say it as the guide usually use it as a passcode to get back in the bus 🙂

Get moving! You have to do a glacier hike now. I know… but unfortunately this is part of the trip, so you have to do it although it does not sound any fun!
Just kidding! This is AWESOME. Hike up on Solheimajokull glacier with your fun guide and see the formations in the glacier, taste the volcanic ash from thousands of years ago and take some Instagram photos. Maybe Facebook as well?

Alright alright. You have to get down as well and do other stuff. It is a day packed with other adventures.
Reynisfjara beach or the Black Sand Beach is next. What is so incredible attracting with this beach? Well, it is hard to put in words, you just have to see it. It is a must do! Absolutely beautiful beach.

Last stop before heading back to Reykjavik is Skógafoss waterfall. The perfect one. Many say it is their favourite one in Iceland. You just have to come and see and take a look at it.
The story says there is a hidden treasure underneath the waterfall…. Are you gonna be the one to find it?

Wait! you have to eat something first. Lets stop at the fine restaurant name Reykr. It is located by the warm river running through Hveragerdi village. There you get a 3 course dinner with some fish for a starter, lamb and then

What to wear? This is Iceland! Always be prepared for rain. Bring rain gear and bring extra pair of socks on the tours. Also bring cap and gloves. In winter bring really warm clothes. We do provide you with crampons in the winter time for free. You do not need to slip in the icy trails.
For this tour in winter I recommend having thermal underclothes along with hiking boots, cap and gloves. You can also rent hiking boots and rain gear. Just choose it under extra when making the booking.

Glacier gear: We provide belt, helmet, axe and glacier hiking crampons. That´s the glacier gear you need to have.

Description

When you are on a vacation, you want to sleep a little bit longer than usually. On this Golden Circle tour you can do that.

Pickup starts at 09:30 and make sure you do not eat to much for breakfast, as the food tasting and lunch at the farm is delicious and is all you can eat lunch.

Let´s stop talking and begin the tour!

Thingvellir national park is the first stop. Have you ever walked between Europe and North America? Probably not, because Iceland is the only place in the world you can do that. Unless you are on the bottom of the ocean and walking there.
Thingvellir is also where we got our independence, Christianity, battled and so much more.

Have you also been on the bottom of a volcanic crater? Or walked around the top? Yeah I know, Iceland is something else! You can do and see surreal things in Iceland. Kerið crater offers you to walk on top of it and to the bottom of it.

Finally! You are going to have lunch. Efstidalur dairy farm is next. The sisters and one brother have put a very personal touch to this farm. They have built a restaurant in the old barn. One of the sisters come and sit down with the group and will hold a presentation while you taste some home made products. After that you get lunch which is a beef meat soup or a vegetable soup, usually a mushroom soup from the mushroom farm next door. They also offer variety of home made butter and bread.

Alright. Although we would love to stay there all day and just eat, we have to move on! The geothermal erupting hot spring is next Geysir. Does it need any more words? Just come and see it.

Last but not least is the iconic waterfall which this tour is named after. The Golden falls or Gullfoss waterfall in Icelandic. Many say this is Icelands most spectacular waterfall. We will let you be the judge of that.

But before you go home you have to bathe in Icelands oldest lagoon and worst kept secret. The Secret Lagoon. I think it is obvious it is no secret today. This is a natural hot water coming straight from the ground.

If you are wondering how to dress for this activity, we always send out emails the day before how the weather is going to be. But we highly recommend bringing a rain gear to Iceland. Does not matter the time of the year. You can also rent waterproof pants and waterproof rain jacket. Just choose it in the extra when making the booking. We do provide you with crampons in the winter time for free. You do not need to slip in the icy trails.
In winter, bring rain gear and also warm clothes, cap and gloves. You can also rent a parka for your tour.
Also remember to bring towel with you for Secret Lagoon and swim suit. Not to mention your smile 🙂
We look forward seeing you on the tour.

Description

You will probably be doing a day tour on the day of Northern Lights. That´s why we have decided to start the tour a little bit later, so you can relax a little bit after a long day, have a dinner and then get ready for the Auroras.

Your awesome guide will pick you up from your accommodation or closest bus stop before you head out to see the Northern Lights.

Seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland is quite new. There is only one written story of the Vikings seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland. So we better use the time we have them in Iceland to watch them over and over again.

You can have a love and hate relationship with the lights. One day you can absolutely love them, and then the next they can make you go mad when you drive all around looking for them and they do not show up. So what I am saying, is there is not a guarantee you will see them. But we will of course do our best to find them.

Sometimes we also have to cancel tours because of weather. It can be better to stay at home rather than going out to see only clouds or a storm. But if we have a chance of seeing them, out we go!

On our tours we offer hot home made chocolate made by Johann´s(the owner) grandma recipe. Johann puts a lot of love into the hot chocolate, so everyone will be in a caring mode on the tours 🙂 Braud & Co bakery bake the delicious cinnamon rolls for the guests.

Our guides take pictures of you with the Northern Lights for free and you can just drop us a line after the tour and we send the pictures over to you. If you have any question, do not be shy to send us a message.

We hope you enjoy your Northern Lights trip with us 🙂

Ps. Dress in warm clothes! Cap, gloves, parka and warm shoes.
